Somewhere between six and ten hours sleep is considered normal.
Einstein reputedly needed ten hours of sleep!
Poor quality sleep – like difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, random wakefulness and early morning waking – can of course have numerous causes.
I am certain that you will have already considered external factors such as too much caffeine, alcohol and so on!
So what can be causing you to have poor quality sleep?
In the UK doctors say that at least 80% of Insomnia is caused by psychological problems.
A psychological problem that can cause Insomnia can be something as simple as habitual worrying or ruminating.
A psychological problem that can also cause Insomnia can be an Anxiety – a Depression – or Stress

So what can I do to help you to sleep well?
I will of course discover what is causing you this problem – and then I will Work with you to resolve the cause.
I will also be giving you, and tailoring to your unique personal needs deep relaxation techniques.
I can teach you skills to stop worrying or ruminating.
I can work with you to resolve Depression, Anxiety or Stress.
The problem with these kind of symptoms is that they cause poor quality sleep – and this often leads into the cycle of feeling even more anxious, or depressed or stressed through the day – which causes even poorer quality of sleep.
Or – it could be that something else may be causing your poor quality sleep?
For example I had a client who had a problem with sleeping well. The year before she came to see me and Work with me she had a young baby who had been unwell for several months.
This young mother, during the time of her baby’s illness had learnt to rarely sleep deeply and to remain in a state of alertness to her baby’s needs - throughout the night. My Work with her was to reassure the deep levels of her unconscious mind that her baby was – is – now safe, and to assist her mind and brain to re learn the ability to sleep well.

Your first session will be an ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION. This session is FREE of charge. You will be able to ask me all the questions you need and also inform me of anything that you think and feel is important and relevant. I will establish with you what you need and want to achieve from your Therapy and structure for you a treatment plan.
However if I think that working with me does not seem to be the most effective method of resolving your difficulties, symptoms or problem I will be able to talk to you about other ways you can receive help that could be more beneficial.

Your ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION will be booked for you at a time and date that is convenient for you and will last for approximately one hour. This session is Free – and can be done by phone, SKYPE, or face to face at my consulting rooms in Keswick, Cumbria, in the English Lake District. If travelling to Keswick for a weekly session is unwieldy for you I can often conduct Therapy Sessions by phone. However face to face Work, though not always essential, can often be much better, in that for example, by phone you may tell me that you are comfortable and relaxed, and face to face I can observe from you breathing, heart rate and so on that in fact you are uncomfortable.

Many clients who have worked with me have often said: “I have several of the symptoms on your list – where do I begin?” during your ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION I will help you to discover where you need to begin, and often several symptoms or problems will be resolved and healed during the course of therapy.
