STOP BEDWETTING

It is possible that you are visiting this page on behalf of a child or young person. However, we at Excellent Rapport have worked successfully with many adult clients, as well as young people, to resolve this problem.

Some research suggests that this problem happens because the child or adult sufferer is sleeping, in deep sleep, for longer periods than a normal sleep pattern.

Two things can occur during a ‘prolonged’ time in deep sleep.

a) Physiologically, during unusually long periods of time in deep sleep – the kidneys begin to function in such a way that the bladder will begin to fill.

b) Because the child or person is in such deep sleep they are unaware of the physical sensation of the need to empty the bladder.

Clinical researchers of sleep patterns, such as Dr. Ann Faraday, suggest there are four levels of sleep – the fourth level being the deepest. A normal sleep pattern would be; that after approximately forty-five minutes after falling sleep, a person enters the fourth, deepest level, but only remains in that state for approximately ten minutes. Then during an average five to seven hours of sleep, the person does not enter stage four, deepest sleep, again.

At Excellent Rapport we usually recommend the use of psychotherapeutic hypnotic trance as part of a treatment plan to resolve the bedwetting problem.

The trance that you or your child, would enter will be a light state in which you, or your child will be entirely in control and at all times entirely safe. During trance I as your Therapist or your child’s Therapist will be able to alter sleep pattern, so that you no longer spend prolonged periods of time in the fourth stage of deep sleep.

Sometimes as your Therapist or your child’s Therapist, I may need to resolve the cause of sleeping too deeply. I will discuss all of this with you during your FREE ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION.

Choose a FREE ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION

You will be able to ask me all the questions you need and also inform me of anything that you think and feel is important and relevant. I will establish with you what you need and want to achieve from your Therapy and structure for you a treatment plan.

However if I think that working with me does not seem to be the most effective method of resolving your difficulties, symptoms or problem I will be able to talk to you about other ways you can receive help that could be more beneficial.

If you need further advice or information about this problem we will be delighted to hear from you. You will find us friendly, professional and we will treat anything you may say or ask of us in the strictest confidence.

Your FREE ASSESSMENT CONSULTATION will last for approximately one hour and can be done by phone, SKYPE, or face to face at our consulting rooms in Keswick, Cumbria, in the English Lake District. If travelling to Keswick for a weekly session is unwieldy for you I can often conduct Therapy Sessions by phone. However face to face Work, though not always essential, can often be much better, in that for example, by phone you may tell me that you are comfortable and relaxed, and face to face I can observe from your breathing, heart rate and so on that in fact you are uncomfortable.

Also see 'Therapeutic Breaks' for information on our accommodation –a sweet cosy cottage right on the banks of the beautiful River Greta which sleeps three people.
